Welcome to this episode of the podcast. In this episode, we are chatting all about the essentials, the foundations, the fundamentals to have in place in your business in order to hit 5, 000 a month consistently in your business. If you are already at that point, maybe you're hitting three to 5k a month pretty regularly. Maybe sometimes you're spiking up to 10 K months or beyond. Everything I'm talking about in this episode is what I would consider truly to be the foundations for a successful online business. And so no matter where you're at, make sure you listen to this episode and can confirm that you've got the right foundations in place so that hitting 10, 20, 30 K months consistently can actually happen way faster and way easier. Because if you're missing some of this, uh, It's going to be harder for you. It's going to be inconsistent or you may plateau or you may actually find yourself dropping in revenue because you can't sustain it. Okay. So let's jump in and get straight to the point. At this stage of business, you are just getting the engine and the machine of your business going. And in so many ways, this initial stage of business is what I would consider to be the hardest. The first 1, 000, 5, 000, 10, 000 you make is the hardest money. To make only because there's so little evidence to potential clients that you can do this. And you also have a small community most likely, right? So we're having to do a lot all at once. We're having to grow our community, getting people to see us, getting in front of them, getting us to talk to them. You know, giving them value, having them trust us enough to follow, to join our email list, to pay us money takes a lot of know, like, and trust. And if you don't have a lot of client testimonials, if you don't have a lot of established cred, Right. Then it's a bigger risk for people to invest in you, right? So there's a lot that has to happen at this stage. And this is also a stage very susceptible to perfectionism, to overthinking and to mindset garbage. This stage is such a. Mindset fuck for so many people, because it may feel like you're shouting into the void. Progress can feel slow. You may not know exactly what's working. It's really easy to get distracted and change course really quickly. So there's so much at play at this stage. And. And what I want you to take away from this is not being discouraged by that, but actually being motivated and activated by that. Because the truth is that while that first few thousand dollars may be the hardest, it can happen very quickly if you're prioritizing the right things and if you are taking the right action. And that's exactly what we're going to talk about here. Okay. So you're in the right place. So like I said, at this stage of business, we're trying to get things going, which means we are doing a lot of different things and not, and not a lot, like a huge quantity, right? But we are trying to drive things forward really intentionally. And the truth is that it's going to take hard work. That doesn't mean you're hustling and grinding and staying up till midnight and sacrificing your whole life, but it does take hard work. You can't skip this stage. You can't just want to have a successful business post a couple of times and assume you're going to have a A huge launch of your new program, right? It just doesn't work that way. So this stage and the foundations we're going to be talking about in this episode can't be skipped and they can't be bypassed. They take work, but they are worth it and can happen very quickly and pay off very quickly. So your most important task, we're getting really into the strategy here right away. Your most important task at this stage of business is 100 percent creating content that gets you in front of your ideal client. So this is really intentional. This isn't posting a daily vlog for shits and gigs. Okay. This is literally like posting content with an intention to attract and get in front of your ideal client, but not only get in front of them, but also attract them. make them want to follow you or join your email list, right? So this is very intentional. Your content at this stage should answer their questions. It should solve their problems. It should give them a quick win. And, and yeah, this is educational content. This is content that is helpful. And there's a crazy narrative going on right now on Instagram or on social media that educational content is dead. And that is just fucking bullshit. Okay. Because Maybe when your business at a different stage, educational content isn't going to be your biggest driver, but at this stage it is because it's your highest ROI. No one cares about your stories and your hot takes. If you can't prove that you know what you're talking about, if you can't get them a quick win and build no like and trust, no one cares. Okay. And we don't have a lot of client success stories to be sharing right now because you're just getting the ball rolling, right? So at this stage, the most effective content you can be creating is what is traditionally considered educational content, helpful content, right? Um, this is what your dream client is going to see and they are going to save it. They are going to share it with their besties. They're going to immediately see you as an expert who knows what they're talking about. They're going to follow you. So that's our intention. So I don't want you to think about educational content is like, it has to be this really boring how to three steps, three tips, whatever, right? It can take that form, but think about it from our goal. Our goal is to give them. a win that makes them want to save it, share it, comment on it, follow you. And that's because we're giving them value. We're giving them educational tips. We're letting them know something they didn't know previously. So sometimes that is truly like education. I would consider what I'm doing in this podcast episode. And I actually have an Instagram post already around this topic. That's educational content. It's strategic. It is giving you wins and advice and education and value that you can literally go and act on. But educational content doesn't always have to take this much of a straight up form, right? Educational content could be letting them know about why a problem is happening and it can help them see something as a problem they didn't even realize was going on. There's, there's so much nuance to this, but please don't buy into the belief that educational content is dead. When you are already at a different stage of business. I would say educational content isn't your biggest driver, but if you are ever in a season where you are trying to grow your community, it's all about helpful content. That is why this all matters. That's what you're doing in the first place. You're here to help other people. And so I really want you to connect into that energy when you're creating content. And if you're showing up to create content saying, what does my ideal person need to hear right now? What do they need to know? How can I get them a quick win? then you're going to be solid. Okay. But it has to come from that genuine place of service and connection and wanting to build a community and wanting to help people. It can't come from this place of just like posting to post to get money to do to do right. Like, yes, we are posting to get clients to make money, but you've got to reconnect with the whole reason you're doing this. And it can't just be to make money. It's got to be about the people you want to help. and using your knowledge to genuinely help them with your content and being generous and not worrying about gatekeeping, not worrying about giving away too much. It's never going to happen. But this is your number one job. If you can do one thing for your business today is creating a piece of content. Okay. The other side of getting in front of your dream clients, what we just talked about, it's kind of like this, um, you know, build it and they will come kind of vibes, right? Like you're creating it. We're going to, we're going to hope that it's going to get in front of them through algorithms or through searching or through recommendations, right? The other, the other side of this at this stage of business is proactive outreach. This is you very intentionally getting in front of your ideal client. So instead of just waiting for them to find your content, we are also going to Um, go where they already are. So getting interviewed on other people's podcasts, engaging with your people on social media. Wow. What a concept. Actually commenting on other people's posts, actually engaging with other people, actually answering DMs and answering questions. on threads or wherever people are asking questions, being in communities, free communities or paid communities where your ideal client is hanging out and they're asking questions. And not only are you seeing those questions and taking that as market research to inform content and inform paid offers, but you're also answering questions. Okay. Collaborating with others is huge because it's automatically a transfer of trust. If you go. into someone else's, uh, group coaching program and they bring you on as a guest expert. That transfer of trust is so huge. Okay. So there are so many things you can do to be proactive, but you've got to be proactive. Okay. This is This, this is huge and this can really accelerate your ability to grow your community, to hit these goals, to get visible and honestly to become that like go to expert. Okay. Because this is really where word of mouth referral starts to play in this strategy right here is single handedly how I built my business as a virtual assistant from like zero to six figures and booked out and quitting my full time corporate job in less than a year. It's this. Okay. It's being of service. It's these two things, really. It's creating valuable content, but then it's also going where your people are and being with them and collaborating with people they already follow, going on podcasts where they already are and just genuinely being engaging and helpful on social media. Okay. Now the other thing to be focusing on is offers, right? What are we selling? Okay. So at this stage, I really want you to be selling. one on one coaching packages or one off intensives. Now, if you're listening to this, maybe you're not planning on doing coaching. Maybe this is, you know, a service, you know, take it or leave it, whatever. Well, one on one service, a one off intensive, a VIP day, anything like that is what you are selling at this stage. Okay. This is your number one focus. Um, day one, I have a package, day one, I have a one on one package. I have a, like a longer term one, and then I have like a one off one. Okay. I have these two different ways you can work with me, um, at different risk levels, different investment levels, but your goal here is to not only sell that, but to get your clients incredible results. Okay. You get that client, you celebrate the shit out of it, and then you get them insane results. That will make or break how fast you grow. Because if those few clients, 1, clients who are taking the risk to work with you with very little evidence and they come on and you get them incredible results, you are going to have incredible testimonials, which is going to mean that future clients are going to see working with you as not as big of a risk. Right? Because it's clear, you know what you're doing. You can really help people. But if you get these clients and then you give half assed service and no one gets results, then guess what? They're not going to want to renew with you. You're going to keep having to find new clients. You're not going to have testimonials, so it's still going to be a risk. So this is a huge, huge part. It's not just selling the service. It's actually getting your clients results and getting testimonials. So that you can then share those testimonials so that you can also renew those clients. If you have someone working with you one on one, you should absolutely be upselling them into continuing to work with you beyond the initial package. Okay? And then we're going to continue to increase your rates because you're getting more clients. We're validating what you're doing. You have expertise, you have testimonials. That's This machine is going okay. So you can start to increase your rates a little bit. You're refining your process. You're figuring out how you like to do this. What makes you stand out as a coach or a service provider. And if this part's done well, selling gets so much easier and you can start hitting 10, 15, 20 K months so fast because you are getting people results. And everyone likes to talk about who's getting them results. Everyone loves to share the person who's helping them get results. Okay. The word of mouth referrals will go crazy. Okay. So we're doing the visibility stuff. We're doing the content to get those first few clients. We're going to keep doing that the whole way. But when you're getting these clients, you're giving them insane results. We're then sharing those results. We're increasing our prices and bada bing, bada boom, we're, we're off to And we're going. Okay. At this stage, I do want you to also be growing your email list. Okay. So if we're trying to hit, you know, three, five K months. Technically, you could hit that without growing your email list here, but we are icons. We are thinking long term. We know we're in this for the long haul. You're not here just to make three, five K, you know, for a couple months, right? We're here to go way bigger, six figures, seven figures. Your eyes are on the prize and we're smart. Okay. So we're going to go ahead and start working on that email list because you are smart. So I want you to Be a little intentional here, right? You don't have to go crazy. You don't have to suddenly have this like really formal newsletter and this weekly thing. You don't have to go all in. You don't have to have a hundred free lead magnets, right? But Let's do the basics. Grow your email list with one to three really intentional lead magnets or free downloads that are specific for your dream client and specific to help your dream client. Keep it simple. No one wants a long ass workbook. No one wants fluff. Okay. What is an actual resource that someone would give an email address for? The best thing you can do is have something that's like a one page checklist or a cheat sheet. or resources. One of my favorite ones I've ever seen that I think is so brilliant was from someone who does more of like, um, cleaning home organization kind of vibes, right? They had a freebie that was literally like the symbols on laundry on clothing and what they meant. And you could give them your email list, you'd get the freebie and you could print it. Now, can you Google that? Yeah. But how annoying is it to Google that shit every time you're trying to do laundry? It's annoying. So instead you get this freebie and the whole point is for you to print it out and hang it in your laundry room So you never have to wonder right? So do we see how that is a actual helpful resource solves a problem and will keep you top of mind. Okay. So does your thing have to be a printable? No, but I want you to think about it that way. What's an actual tool that my people will use that they want to use that solves a problem. Amazing. That is going to be your simplest, most effective lead magnet. Are there other things you can do? Absolutely. You can do private podcasts, you can do free webinars and masterclasses and all of those things. But I Fundamentals, basics, low lift, high ROI. If you have a very good and intentional one to three free lead magnets that kind of hit on a couple of the different things you'd help serve your clients, you're going to be good. Okay. So that's going to be huge. Think practical and useful, not necessarily informational. Okay. So your freebies don't necessarily need to give more info. They can, right? You can have a video that comes with it that gives some info, but ultimately the tool itself is what we are giving in exchange for an email address. And these free lead magnets should get pitched all the time. So if you're doing a podcast or a YouTube or an Instagram post, like pitch the freebie that's relevant. It's got to be relevant, but pitch it. Okay. This is how we're going to grow your list. It sounds basic, but guess what? I've been doing it since 2016. It still works today. 2024 going into 2025. It works. Okay. So let's recalibrate at this stage. Investing with you is still a risk, right? We're still trying to get to the three to 5k months. So low ticket digital products can be an incredible thing to have in your product suite at this stage to give your ideal clients a low risk way to try you on to see if you actually know what you're talking about. So These resources should be things that you want your one on one clients to have anyways. So if you're working with a client and you're like, Oh, I really wish they had this spreadsheet or this tracker or this calendar, this thing, or this, that, right. I would, or this information, I wish they already had it. Amazing. Make that product, give it to your clients, but also sell it to non clients. Okay. So this should be things your dream clients actually need and would benefit from. Okay. Okay. So that's how I want you to think about low ticket digital products is it isn't, what do I want to create? It's okay. Here's my dream client. Here's what we work on. Here are the actual assets and tools and resources and templates and information I wish they all had. Cool. Make it, make those digital products again. We don't have to go crazy. You don't suddenly have to be an e commerce with 10, 10 different things, but one to three. Brilliant, super light, super low lift, but super intentional on your end. And if you can start to see how this comes together now, if we do this well, our free lead magnets can connect and align with our low ticket digital products. So we can have a very light lift. easy funnel. So you don't have to worry about like a million of the complicated timers and all this kind of stuff, right? Keep it simple. But if you have a free download, that's around, um, excuse me, that's around like, let's say it's goal setting there. Okay. So maybe your freebie is like a goal tracking spreadsheet. Okay. Honestly, that could be a paid thing, but whatever. Let's just say it's, um, a goal tracking spreadsheet for simplicity. That's your freebie. Cool. Okay. Well, so a natural next step for that person might actually be like a mini course around setting goals, or maybe it's more about the execution and it's like the 12 week year, right? Maybe you love the 12 week year concept, or you have your own way for people to like, Actually execute on their goals. Right? So the freebie is about the goals. And then the natural next step is them executing. And so your low ticket digital product can be, you know, setting the goals, but then executing on the goals. Amazing, right? And then from there, we're pitching your one on one. So great. You've got all this, you have the plan, but now you need accountability. Now you need customization. Now you need someone to help you actually refine what you're doing to make sure this is working. Right? Cool. Hire me. Or maybe, Hey, you went through this whole thing. Maybe you want someone to help you create this strategy with you. Book a VIP date with me. Book a one off intensive with me. Okay. So obviously apply this to your own industry, but do you see how we've basically created a really light low lift funnel? Anytime you're creating a piece of content around goal setting or productivity even, or executing or strategy, right? You can pitch the freebie and you could pitch the low ticket digital product. You could pick and choose, but they're all going to flow together and it's all ultimately pitching your one on one. Okay. Super low lift, light, easy funnel. That just makes sense. And it's all for your dream client. It's all for the person. We want to work with you one on one now at this stage, I know we just went through some priorities, right? Visibility content, proactive outreach, private coaching offers, strategic lead magnets, low ticket digital products. Okay. At this stage, that's it. Don't get distracted by all the bells and whistles. You don't need. crazy backend systems at this stage. I know I'm a former systems girly, you know, other systems girlies out there don't hate on me, but at this stage you don't need it. You don't need a perfect backend of your business right now. You don't need a perfect website. You definitely don't need a copywriter or professional branding or any of that stuff. And you don't need to be on every single platform right now, creating content. Okay. You need to be focusing on those key foundations I just mentioned. And execute on those until you're hitting those five K months consistently, and then ramping up to 15 K months and beyond perfectionism at this stage will ruin everything for you. Okay. This is the era of your business where you're taking messy action. And it might be uncomfortable as hell for you, but this is where you're going to move the needle. This is where you're going to move quickly and take risks and see what works and see what doesn't and adjust. Okay. We're focused on those essentials, but we're not so attached and like, so perfectionist about it that it takes us months to launch a lead magnet or months to launch a podcast or months or well, hopefully it's not taking months for you to write an Instagram post. We get the idea, right? Perfectionism will ruin your business at this stage. It will hold you back. You will never hit your goals. This is the season of messy action. Fuck around and find out. This is like, what if, just like audacity, bold. Embrace the cringe. Go for it. Be your own biggest hype person, okay? Be delusional. Know that you will be successful. Trust yourself to have your own back. Drink your own Kool-Aid. Be your biggest fan. No one will be. your hype person at this stage other than you. If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will. If you don't buy into your own shit, no one else will. Okay. You've got to be your own biggest fan and have an insane amount of self trust and belief and confidence so that other people will. And if you're putting that level of confidence and energy out there, your people will feel it. Okay. So, I don't give two shits about if you're worried about being cringe, embrace it. Everyone's cringy until they make money and be successful, right? Who cares? Have the audacity to show up, to be loud, and to take up space, okay? This is your game plan to hitting 5K months. It's the basics, it's the fundamentals, it's foundational, but if you're focused, if you're intentional, if you show up and you execute and you avoid all the distractions and shiny object and you work through all the mindset garbage, this can happen so, so, so quickly. You need to come in, learn the strategy, execute, and stay focused. Keep the blinders on. Don't get shiny object syndrome. Don't try to do a hundred things. Know what you need to do.
